Disability Capital Action Day last week in Sacramento was a wonderful success. Over 1000 people with disabilities visited the state capital and spoke to our elected officials.

July 26, 2010 will mark the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the landmark civil rights legislation which ushered in changes that have become ubiquitous in American cities over the past 20 years, such as curb cuts and building ramps. The importance of this celebration cannot be underestimated, especially in our current political climate where the legitimacy and necessity of civil rights legislation is being questioned with disturbing frequency.
