Washington, D.C. -- As part of its continuing effort to develop and implement consumer-focused
policies, including disabilities access, the Federal Communications Commission will hold a
workshop on May 13, 2010, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room, on
“Expanding Disability Access with Wireless Technologies.” The workshop will focus on:
· Mobile communications access issues facing people with disabilities and the
disparities in technology access.
· Ways in which new technologies can offer opportunities to meet the communications
access needs of people with disabilities.
· Technology demonstrations of advanced mobile communications.
The names of the panelists will be released at a later date.
